Farm Arts Collective returns to Callicoon, NY to present a new site-specfic performance, part of the village celebration, Dickens on the Delaware.  On Saturday, December 13 at 2 PM, the collective will present “A Roving Christmas Carol,”  an abridged and delightful theatrical rendition of Charles Dickens famous novella, A Christmas Carol. The street theatre perfomance will begin at The Western Inn on Upper Main Street, and from there, spectators are invited to follow the roving play to locations throughout town where scenes from A Christmas Carol will be performed.

The performance is written by company playwright, Melissa Bell, with the role of Scrooge is played by Farm Arts Collective’s musical talent Doug Rogers. In this classic Christmas tale, Scrooge encounters three ghosts: Christmas Past (Tannis Kowalchuk), Christmas Present (Jess Beveridge), and Christmas Future (Michael Chojnicki on stilts).  Scrooge confronts his life's journey that has led him to a sad and miserly disposition. Throughout his encounters with the ghosts, he eventually arrives at a final spiritual transformation of empathy and generosity and his Christmas and life is changed for the better.

The performance features the cast of Jim Sullivan, Pam Arnold, Melissa Bell, Dog Rogers, Vickie Diescher, Tannis Kowalchuk, Jess Beveridge, Rowan Bloomer, and Michael Chojnicki.  The  2:00 PM performance is free and appropriate for all ages.
